Aled Jones – From chorister to radio presenter and receiving an MBE in half a life time Aled Jones is a popular singer from Wales, UK. Starting out life in rural Wales, Aled Jones joined the choir of Bangor Cathedral at the age of 9 and although he never made it to Head Chorister, he was often chosen to sing solo.
In 1985 he released a cover version of “Walking In The Air” from the animated film The Snowman, and was thrown into the life of a star. By the age of 15 his biography had already hit the book shelves and by the age of 16 (when he took a break from singing due to his voice changing) he had recorded close to 20 albums. He studied at music and acting school during his late teens and subsequently took to the stage as an actor. He toured extensively to promote his new albums which showed off his now rich baritone voice.
More recently he has been a Radio and TV presenter, published many books and been a judge of The Pride Of Britain Awards. His MBE came in the 2013 Birthday Honours for services to music and broadcasting and for charitable services.
