A Great Big World is an American musical duo from consisting of members Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino.
Axel attended New York University, where he studied music and recorded demos of his songs. Vaccarino is a BMI songwriter and musician, and has performed in various musical theatre performances.
The two met in 2007 through a chance encounter and formed the band shortly thereafter.
Their first EP, ‘All I Want,’ was released in 2012 to critical acclaim. The following year, they made their US television debut with an appearance on the talent show The Voice, and their single “Say Something” became their breakthrough hit. In 2013, they released their debut full-length studio album, ‘Is There Anybody Out There?’, featuring the hit singles “Say Something” and “Rockstar.”
The duo has toured extensively throughout the US and Europe, performing at festivals and clubs. They have also collaborated with various artists.
