The Lumineers are a band from Colorado, USA who churn out acoustic rock, classic pop and folk. The band was started by Wesley Schultz (vocals and guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites (drums and percussion) in New York City, but they struggled to get notoriety in the tough music scene so packed up their belongings and moved lock, stock and barrel to Denver Colorado where they appointed Neyla Pekarek (cello and vocals). More recent additions to the line up have been Stelth Ulvang (piano, mandolin and accordion) and Ben Wahamaki (bass guitar and upright bass).

Although The Lumineers have been performing since 2005, they have only released one studio album, but that album has been nominated for music industry awards. With their timeless melodies and stirring lyrics they have sold out tours in United States, UK, Europe, Australia and South Africa.

Lyrics

I been tryin’ to do it right
(Hey) I been livin’ a lonely life
(Ho) I been sleepin’ here instead
(Hey) I been sleepin’ in my bed
(Ho) I been sleepin’ in my bed
(Hey)
(Ho)
(Ho) so show me family
(Hey) all the blood that I will bleed
(Ho) I don’t know where I belong
(Hey) I don’t know where I went wrong
(Ho) but I can write a song
(Hey)

I belong with you, you belong with me
You’re my sweetheart
I belong with you, you belong with me
You’re my sweet

come on, now
(Ho) hey
(Hey)

I don’t think you’re right for him
(Hey) think of what it might’ve been if we
(Ho) took a bus to Chinatown
(Hey) I’d be standin’ on Canal
(Ho) and Bowery
(Hey)
(Ho) she’d be standin’ next to me
(Hey)

I belong with you, you belong with me
You’re my sweetheart
I belong with you, you belong with me
You’re my sweetheart
