Tones and I (Toni Watson) Is an Australian pop singer who had immediate success when she began releasing singles such as “Johnny Run Away” and “Dance Monkey,“. Her 2019 debut EP, ‘The Kids Are Coming’, was certified platinum. Additional singles followed over the next two years, leading to her full-length album ‘Welcome to the Madhouse’ in 2021.

Watson was born in Mornington, Victoria, Australia and raised in Mount Martha. As a teenager, she became interested in music and began busking on the streets in early 2018. Her busking performances attracted attention from a variety of passersby. In August 2018 she self-released her debut single “Johnny Run Away”, which gained traction online and was added to Spotify playlists.

After a short career in retail, Tones And I decided to buy a loop station and began busking to earn a living. This eventually led to her successfully acquiring a manager and a record deal.

Her collaboration with Macklemore, “Chant“, appeared in July 2022

In August 2023 she performed at the FIFA Women’s World Cup closing ceremony. Her newest track “The Greatest” which had been used to support the Australian women’s team, the Matildas.
