Ray Price was an influential American Country Music singer, song writer and guitarist. He was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1996. He continued to record and tour into his 80s.

Price began his professional career in 1948 when he joined the band of country star Hank Williams. He had his first major hit with the song, “Talk to Your Heart,” in 1952. His next hit, “Crazy Arms,” would become one of his signature songs and would become a number one hit on the country charts.

Over the next two decades, Price enjoyed a successful solo career, releasing several albums and singles which went on to become country music classics. He also continued to tour and perform on television shows. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1996.

Price’s influence has been felt across many genres of music, with his records being covered by artists such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson. His style and approach to the genre have been an inspiration to many performers, and his music continues to influence the direction of modern country music.

He is credited with changing the beat of Country Music from 2/4 to 4/4 which made it generally more popular.
