Matt Cardle is an English singer, songwriter and musician who rose to fame after winning the seventh series of the UK talent show ‘The X Factor’ in 2010. He plays guitar, drums and piano.

He was involved in music during his early teens and has been a member of two different bands which played mainly hard rock music but eventually rose to fame after winning the seventh series of The X Factor. Impressing judges with his rendition of Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good,” he made it through to the live stages, where he was mentored by Dannii Minogue. His performances of tracks originally sung by artists including Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears, and Roberta Flack, helped him to reach the final, where he beat singer Rebecca Ferguson and boy band One Direction.

Matt Cardle has since released several albums and toured the United Kingdom and Ireland. His 2011 debut album, Letters, debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart and the Irish Albums Chart. The album saw two singles released, “Starlight” and “Amazing”. After changing record companies, he released his second studio album, The Fire, which charted at number eight on the UK Albums Chart. October 2013, saw the release of his third album, Porcelain, as an independent release. It reached number 11 on the UK Albums Chart. The lead single was a duet with Melanie C, called “Loving You”, which was released on 18 August and reached number 14 on the UK Singles Chart.
