Lauren Alaina is an American country music singer and songwriter. She was born in Graceland, Georgia on November 8, 1994. Alaina first gained attention when she competed on the tenth season of American Idol in 2011. She placed second overall on the show.

Alaina released her debut album, Wildflower, in 2011. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard Country Albums chart and number five on the Billboard 200. It has been certified Platinum by the RIAA. Alaina’s second album, Road Less Traveled, was released in 2017. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Country Albums chart and number four on the Billboard 200.

Alaina has released several singles, many of which have charted on the Billboard Country Singles chart. “Road Less Traveled” and “Doin’ Fine” both reached number one. Alaina has also released several solo albums including with her band, the Peach Pickers.

Alaina took part in the tenth season of American Idol in Nashville, Tennessee. During the season finale, Alaina sang “Before He Cheats” with Carrie Underwood. On May 25, 2011, Alaina was declared the runner-up
