Jim Stafford (born James Wayne Stafford on December 16, 1944 in Elk City, Oklahoma) is an American country music singer and comedian.
He is known for his humorous novelty songs, which make use of his talents as a comedian and singer. Stafford had a number-one hit in 1973 with “Spiders & Snakes”, and has also charted with “My Girl Bill”, “Wildwood Weed”, “Underneath the Arches”, and “Swamp Witch”.

Stafford has released more than two dozen albums, and has appeared on television shows such as Hee Haw, The Carol Burnett Show, and Nashville Now. Stafford contributed to several movie soundtracks. He received a gold record for his work on the Disney movie The Fox and the Hound. He wrote “Cow Patti” for the Clint Eastwood movie Any Which Way You Can and appeared in the movie.
Stafford is self-taught on guitar, fiddle, piano, banjo, organ, and harmonica. His work has been covered by many artists, including Loretta Lynn and Lee Hazlewood
