Francesca Battistelli is an American Christian singer/songwriter.
She grew up with parents who were involved in musical theatre and it seemed like a natural progression for her to follow. In the early 2000’s she joined a main stream, all girl pop group but when that partnership ended, she concentrated on playing guitar and writing her own songs.
She received her first Grammy Award nomination in 2009, for Best Gospel Performance with her single, “Free to Be Me” and later received her first Grammy Award in 2016 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.
