Connie Francis (born Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero, December 12, 1938) is an American pop singer and top-charting female vocalist of the late 1950s and early 1960s.

From the age of four, Connie Francis was encouraged by her father to appear regularly at talent contests, pageants, and other neighbourhood festivities as a singer and accordion player. In her teens she continued with this and also performed in talent shows (some of which were broadcast on television). She also appeared on NBC’s variety show, “Startime Kids”, between 1953 and 1955.
In 1958, Francis was launched into worldwide stardom with the single “Who’s Sorry Now”. It reached Number 1 on the UK Singles Chart and Number 4 in the US. Her second single, “Stupid Cupid”, was her second Number 1 in the UK and it reached Number 14 on the Billboard Chart.
Connie is a published author with the autobiographies Who’s Sorry Now? and Among My Souvenirs: The Real Story Vol. 1 having been released in 1984 and 2017, respectively.
