As an actress, she made her television film debut starring in The Muppets‘ Wizard of Oz, opposite Miss Piggy and Kermit. She also starred in the Disney animated series The Proud Family. She got her start in acting on American TV in shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.

In 2015, she announced that she has been working on new music for her sixth album. Ashanti also partnered with Michelle Obama and the Let’s Move campaign to which aims to spread awareness of the importance of drinking water and produced a new video and song “Let’s Go”.
