Yazoo Backing Tracks – Don’t Go … Nobody’s Diary … Only You … Situation

Yazoo were a British synthpop duo (Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke) popular in the early 1980’s. They enjoyed worldwide success, particularly in the UK where three of their four singles reached high in the UK Singles Chart and both their albums made the top two of the albums chart. The band only lasted a brief time as a duo but both members went on to produce and perform music, Alison as a solo artist and Vince with Erasure.

In 1983 they won the BRIT Award for British Breakthrough Act and the song “Only You” was nominated for the best selling A Side at the 1984 Ivor Novello Awards.

In 2008, 25 years after splitting up, Clarke and Moyet reconciled and reformed to play a successful tour of the UK, Europe and North America.

Yazoo are widely considered one of the best and most influential synth-pop acts of the 1980s. Following their split in 1983, the pair continued to have successful careers as solo artists. They reunited in 2008 for a series of live performances and a greatest hits collection.
