The band released several successful albums during their career, including “Stay Hungry” (1984) and “Come Out and Play” (1985). However, by the late 1980s, the band’s popularity had declined due to changing musical trends and internal conflicts.
Twisted Sister officially disbanded in 1988 but briefly reunited in the late 1990s and early 2000s for live performances. Following the death of drummer A.J. Pero in 2015, the band announced their retirement.
Despite their short-lived mainstream success, Twisted Sister left a lasting impact on the heavy metal genre. They are considered influential in the development of glam metal and played a significant role in popularising the genre in the 1980s. Their rebellious attitude, catchy melodies, and energetic stage presence continue to be celebrated by fans around the world.
