Turtles Backing Tracks – Elenore …  Happy Together … Turn Turn Turn … You Showed Me …

The Turtles were an American rock band formed in 1965 by vocalists Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman. The band had several Top 40 hits. They scored their biggest and best-known hit in 1967 with the song “Happy Together”.

They broke up in 1970 with Kaylan and Volman later finding success as session musicians, billed as the comedic vocal duo Flo & Eddie. In 2010, a reconstituted version of the band, the Turtles Featuring Flo & Eddie, began performing live shows again. The ‘Happy Together: 25th Anniversary Tour’, was an oldies concert series and included performances from other 1960s and 1970s pop stars, including Gary Puckett.

The Turtles certainly had a profound impact on the music industry. They are often credited with pioneering the surf-rock genre, and their catchy, energetic songs remain popular among fans of classic rock and roll. The Turtles’ influence can be heard in the music of artists like The Beach Boys, The Monkees, and The Byrds.
