Pat Boone (born June 1, 1934) is an American singer, composer, actor, writer, television personality, motivational speaker, and spokesman. He was a successful pop singer in the United States during the 1950’s and early 1960’s. He sold over 45 million records, had 38 top-40 hits, and appeared in more than 12 Hollywood films.

The early part of Pat Boone’s career was focused on covering R&B songs such as Ain’t That A Shame – Fats Domino and Tutti Fruitti – Little Richard. Boone also wrote the lyrics for the instrumental theme song for the film Exodus, which he titled “This Land Is Mine”. He appeared as a regular performer on American TV and hosted his own The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom. In the early 1960s, he began writing a series of self-help books for adolescents, including Twixt Twelve and Twenty although he did continue recording throughout the 1960s. In the 1970s, he switched to gospel and country as well as a short spell doing heavy metal.
