Marina and the Diamonds is the stage name of Welsh singer-songwriter Marina Diamandis. She rose to prominence with her unique musical style and compelling lyrics. Her music blends pop, indie, and electronic elements.

She moved to London as a teenager to become a professional singer, despite having little formal musical experience. Marina released her first EP, “Mermaid vs. Sailor,” in 2007. Her debut studio album, “The Family Jewels,” followed in 2010. Critics praised her distinctive voice and clever songwriting. Songs like “Hollywood” and “I Am Not a Robot” became fan favourites. She quickly gained a devoted fanbase.

Her follow-up record, Electra Heart (2012). This project embraced a more mainstream pop sound. It explored themes of identity and femininity. The singles “Primadonna” and “How to Be a Heartbreaker” achieved commercial success. Fans loved her theatrical persona and thematic storytelling.

Diamandis’s third studio album, Froot (2015), became her third top 10 album in the UK and her first top 10 entry on the US Billboard 200. She took a hands-on approach, writing and producing much of the work herself. In June 2017 and she performed with Clean Bandit at the Glastonbury Festival and in 2018, she was featured on their single “Baby”, which reached the top 15 in the UK.

Her fourth studio album, Love + Fear, was released in April 2019. The album charted at No. 5 on the UK album chart. She released her fifth studio album, Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land, in June 2021 which charted at No. 17 in the UK. The deluxe version was released in January 2022.

Marina And The Diamonds was later known mononymously as MARINA.
