It also topped the charts in several countries around the globe, an unprecedented achievement at the time.

Lynn Anderson, born on September 26, 1947, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, quickly rose to fame as a celebrated country music artist. As a result, she earned a Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1971. Lynn Anderson was the first female country artist to win an American Music Award (1974).
