Kelly Willis (born October 2, 1968) is an American country music singer-songwriter, whose music has been described as alternative country and new traditionalist.

Her debut album, Kelly Willis, was released in 1993. She has released six additional albums, including Translated from Love, What I Deserve, and Real Fine Place. Willis has also appeared on television shows such as Nashville Star and Austin City Limits. In addition to her solo work, she has collaborated with other artists, including Bruce Robison, on the album Cheater’s Game. 

Willis picked up her interest in music from her mother, who liked to sing and appeared in amateur musicals.  When she was nine, she started singing and writing songs and later made a recording which landed her the lead vocal role in a rock-a-billy band. During this time she honed her guitar playing skills and continued singing and writing songs.

Despite a record deal and several album releases, Kelly Willis didn’t get mainstream airplay until after the release of her 4th album. Subsequently she produced a further 8 albums, many in collaboration with her husband Bruce Robison.

In 2008 she announced an indefinite hiatus.
