Joan Osborne is an American singer and songwriter best known for her hit song “One of Us”.
Osborne began her career singing in clubs in her native Louisville, Kentucky before moving to New York City in the early 1990s.

She released her debut album, “Soul Show: Live at the Wetlands,” in 1995. The album featured a mix of covers and original songs, and was recorded live at the now-defunct Wetlands Preserve nightclub in New York City. Osborne’s cover of the Eric Clapton song “My Father’s Eyes” was a hit, and the album went on to sell over two million copies.
In 1996, Osborne released her second album, “Relish,” which featured the hit single “One of Us.” The song, which was written by Eric Bazilian of the band The Hooters. It was a Top 40 hit in the United States and United Kingdom. She won a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. “Relish” was a commercial and critical success, selling over four million copies worldwide.
Osborne has released eight studio albums, including “Songs of Bob Dylan,” in 2014. She has also toured extensively, both as a solo artist and with her band, The Joan Osborne Band.
In addition to her work as a musician, Osborne is also an outspoken advocate for social and political causes, including human rights, the environment, and animal welfare.
