Jennifer Rush is an American singer and songwriter who achieved commercial success during the mid-1980s around the world.

Born in Queens, New York, Rush began her musical career in the 1970s as a member of the folk group, The Fools and performing as a backing vocalist for several artists including Elton John and Billy Joel.

She went on to release her debut solo album in 1983, titled ‘Jennifer Rush’ The album was a huge success, selling over a million copies in the United States.

Rush’s second album, ‘Heart Over Mind,’ was released in 1987 and featured the hit single “The Power of Love.” The song topped the charts in several countries and was later included in the film “Dirty Dancing.”. The song would go on to become one of the most popular songs of the 1980s, selling over a million copies in the United Kingdom alone.

In 1989, Rush released her third album, “ Wings of Desire.” The album’s lead single, “The Voice Within,” was another huge hit, reaching number one in several countries.

Rush continued to enjoy success throughout the 1980s and 1990s with hits like “I Come Undone” and “Ring of Fire.” She has released several studio albums

Throughout her career, Rush has sold over 25 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling female artists of all time. She has also been nominated for several Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013.
