Icona Pop is a Swedish electropop duo which a formed in 2009 by Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo who met by chance at a party. They signed to TEN Music Group and their biggest hit to date has been “I Love It”. Since September 2012, the duo have been based in the United States

Jawo and Hjelt, who attended the same music school in Stockholm, met at a party in 2009 and formed Icona Pop soon after.

In 2013, the duo released their new single “Girlfriend”. Icona Pop received two Teen Choice awards for Choice Music Breakout Group and Choice Single: Group and in 2013 they released “All Night”.

Accolades for their song “I Love It” included nominations for the 2013 Teen Choice Award for Choice Single and the 2014 Billboard Music Award for the Top Dance/Electronic Song. “I Love It” also won the Song of the Year at the 2014 SESAC Pop Awards.

Since then they have collaborated and toured with stars such as Miley Cyrus, One Direction, Katy Perry and Tove Lo.
