Vannelli was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, and began his musical career at a young age. He learned to play the drums and piano and started writing songs in high school. In the early 1970s, he formed a band with his brothers and released their first album, “Crazy Life,” in 1973. The album garnered attention with its blend of pop, rock, and jazz influences.
