Divine Comedy (The) is an alias for Neil Hannon, a singer / songwriter from Northern Ireland. Originally the Divine Comedy was a trio but by the late 1990’s three had become one, although session musicians are regularly employed (including a 20 piece orchestra).  He achieved his greatest commercial success in the years 1996–99, during which he had nine singles that made the UK Top 40, including the top ten hit “National Express”.
