Cascada is a German dance music act founded in 2004 by singer Natalie Horler, DJ Manian and DJ Yanou. They are best known for their hit singles “Everytime We Touch”, “What Hurts the Most” and “Evacuate the Dancefloor”.
The group’s debut album Everytime We Touch was released in 2006 and achieved commercial success in a number of countries. It peaked at number one in the United Kingdom and Ireland and reached the top ten in several other countries, including Australia, Germany, New Zealand and the United States.
Their version of Wham’s “Last Christmas” was recorded and released in 2007 and is a song which is regularly played throughout music channels during the festive season.
The group’s second album, Perfect Day, was released in 2008 and saw them experimenting with a more electronic sound. It was not as commercially successful as their debut album, but still managed to peak at number two in the UK and number three in Ireland. They have sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
Cascada represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. While being one of the most successful acts of the dance music genre itself, Cascada were named the most successful German act of the 21st Century.
