Alastair Ian Stewart (born 5 September 1945) is a British singer-songwriter and folk-rock musician who rose to prominence as part of the British folk revival in the 1960s and 1970s. He developed a unique style of combining folk-rock songs with delicately woven tales of characters and events from history.

Stewart has released over 25 albums in total, and still continues to tour actively, performing to packed crowds the world over. His music has since been used in films and television shows, including ‘The Sopranos’, ‘ER’, ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘The Office’. Stewart’s legacy as one of Scotland’s most treasured singer-songwriters is undisputed, and his unmistakable voice and skillful songwriting will be remembered for generations to come. In April 2017, Stewart was given a Lifetime Achievement award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
