Liam Gallagher – William John Paul “Liam” Gallagher (born 21 September 1972) is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis, and later served as the singer of Beady Eye, before performing as a solo artist after the dissolution of both bands. His erratic behaviour, distinctive singing style, and abrasive attitude have been the subject of commentary in the press; he remains one of the most recognisable figures in modern British music.

Although his older brother Noel wrote the majority of Oasis’ songs, Liam penned the singles “Songbird” and “I’m Outta Time”, along with a string of album tracks and B-sides. Noel departed Oasis in 2009 and formed Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, while Liam continued with the other former members of Oasis under the Beady Eye name until they disbanded in 2014. His debut solo album As You Were was released 6 October 2017, which proved to be a critical and commercial success, topping the UK Album Chart and being certified Platinum.
His second solo album Why Me? Why Not. was released in September 2019 and was promoted with a wide reaching tour. The album’s lead single “Shockwave” became one of Gallagher’s biggest solo hits. The album received generally positive reviews from critics and debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, achieving silver certification in its first week and later being certified gold.
In 2024 Gallagher collaborated with Stone Roses guitarist John Squire to produce an album. The album’s second single, “Mars to Liverpool” was released on 26 January 2024. It peaked at number 16 on the UK Singles Downloads Chart.
