Jermaine Stewart Backing Tracks –  We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off

Jermaine Stewart (September 7, 1957 – March 17, 1997) was an American singer, songwriter and dancer. Stewart is best known for his 1984 hit single “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off” which reached number two in the UK and number one in several other countries.

Stewart began his career as a backing dancer for artists such as The Temptations, Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross. He made his recording debut as a member of the R&B group The Whispers on their album Imagination (1981). He began his solo career with the release of his self-titled debut album in 1983. The album’s first single, “The Word Is Out“, peaked at number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Stewart’s breakthrough came with the release of his second album, ‘Frantic Romantic’ (1984). The album’s lead single, “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off“, was a worldwide hit, reaching number two in the UK and number one in several other countries. The song’s success helped propel the album to number three on the UK Albums Chart.
