Four Aces were an American vocal group who were popular in the 1950’s.

Al Alberts and Dave Mahoney were navy shipmates and they originally sang together before adding Lou Silvestri (drums) and Sol Vaccaro (trumpet).

They made a name for themselves around their native Philadelphia before releasing their debut single “(It’s No) Sin,“. It became a big hit in late 1951 and sold a million copies.

They signed to Decca and their debut single for the label, “Tell Me Why,” fared well and sold a million copies.

A few Top Ten hits followed during the early ’50s before “Three Coins in the Fountain” hit number one in 1954. Another movie theme, “Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing,” spent over a month at the top during 1955.
