David Gilmour is an English musician, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known as the lead guitarist of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. He joined the band as a replacement for Syd Barrett in 1968 and went on to co-write and perform some of the band’s greatest hits, including “Money”, “Comfortably Numb”, and “Another Brick in the Wall”.
Outside of his work with Pink Floyd, Gilmour has released four solo albums and has produced several albums for other artists. In 2018, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Pink Floyd. He is one of the world’s most celebrated guitarists and is famed for his innovative playing style and use of effects.
