John Cruz is a Hawaiian singer, song writer and guitarist.
From an early age he was surrounded by music. With his father being a country musician, there was always an opportunity to join in, including performing live on stage.

In 1983 Cruz moved to the East Coast and began performing in coffee houses, bars and clubs. During this time he also ventured in to acting and dancing, spending six years in theatre and dance companies.
John returned to Hawaii in 1995 and played bass with the popular band, the Ka’au Crater Boys. He also performed many of his own songs with them and as a result of this he developed a fan base.
His first album, ‘Acoustic Soul’ was released in 1996.
In 2005, won a Grammy Award for his original song “Jo Bo’s Night”. It was featured on the compilation CD Slack Key Guitar Volume 2.
