Susan Maughan (born Marian Maughan, 1 July 1938) is an English singer who released successful singles in the 1960s. Her most famous and successful song, “Bobby’s Girl” (a cover of the Marcie Blane single), reached number three in the UK Singles Chart at Christmas time in 1962.
Before Susan Maughan finally made the charts she had spent three years as a singer with Ronnie Hancock’s Band and then a further year with the great Ray Ellington Quartet. She obtained singing parts in numerous movies including the British rock and roll film, ‘What A Crazy World’ starring alongside Joe Brown and Marty Wilde.

In the 1960s, Susan’s repertoire diversified to include folk, country, and pop music, and she released many singles and EPs over the decade, including her 1965 version of the tune written by Jack Greene, “Is Anybody Goin’ to San Antone?”. This record was a huge success, peaking at number 12 on the UK Singles Chart.
The 1970s saw Susan become a frequent performer on British television variety shows. In the 1980s, she returned to singing cabaret-style numbers, and appeared in various West End shows in London. Over the next few decades, she performed in various one-woman shows, the most popular of which were produced in the mid-1990s.
