Kenny Chesney was born on March 26, 1968 in Tennessee. Although he was brought up on Country music and Rock and Roll, he didn’t really take a personal interest until he received a guitar as a Christmas present. After teaching himself to play he joined the local bluegrass band and wrote some lyrics which he tried out in bars and restaurants. In 1989 he released a demo album and from the sales bought a new guitar. He graduated from college in 1990 with a degree in advertising and then moved to Nashville where he performed at several clubs. His first record deal was with the Capricorn label from where he released the first of many albums (In My Wildest Dreams) in 1993. Unfortunately, Capricorn closed its Country section soon after but the album sold over 100,000 copies and set Kenny on the road to stardom.

The artist has gone from strength to strength and has received many Academy of Country Music awards as well as Country Music Association awards and is one of the most popular touring acts in country music, regularly selling out the venues in which he performs.
