Des-ree – Desirée Annette Weeks (born 30 November 1968), stage name Des’ree is a British R&B recording artist who rose to popularity during the 1990s. She is well known for her hits: “Feel So High” (for which three different music videos were recorded), “You Gotta Be”, “Life”, and “Kissing You” (from the soundtrack of the film Romeo + Juliet). At the 1999 Brit Awards she received the Brit Award for Best British female solo artist. Des’ree has not released any new material since the 2003 album Dream Soldier.

Des’ree started out by playing various instruments, including the piano and guitar, and worked as a session musician. Her professional singing debut was in the 1990s when she was signed by Sony Music UK. Her debut album was titled Mind Adventures and was released in 1993. It featured the successful single “Feel So High”, which was a hit in the UK.

Des’ree’s third album Supernatural was released in 1998 and featured her hits “Kissing You” and “Life”. The album was a commercial success, reaching the top 20 in several countries and selling over two million copies worldwide.

In 2001, Des’ree released her fourth album Dream Soldier. The album featured some of her most personal songs and produced the single “It’s OK”. It reached the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart.

Des’ree’s music has been categorised as soul, R&B, and pop. She has been nominated for several awards, including two Grammy Awards and an MTV Music Award.
